Velocity Ultra Announced for Vita

Velocity, the PlayStation mini is getting a makeover, and it’s heading to the PlayStation Vita.

Velocity Ultra is an update to the original Velocity, and will feature a fresh artstyle, trophies and online leaderboards. Velocity Ultra will be changing the pixel art of the original title in favor of “the edgy cartoon style” says James Marsden, the Managing Director at Futurlab.

Velocity Ultra is said to be a way to wider the audience, and build the Velocity name. There are plans for a sequel, and there is even a Velocity sequel questionnaire to let Futurlab know what you’d like to see in a sequel. As a bonus, filling out the questionnaire could win you a copy of Velocity Ultra.

Velocity Ultra is planned to be submitted to Sony in April, and could release in May.

With the release of multiple minis, and PlayStation Mobile titles in 2012, we can only expect bigger things from Futurlab in 2013.
